Study on the Mechanism of Social Media Users' Irrational Behavior From the Risk Perception in Public Opinion Engagement
[Purpose/Significance]This study analyzes the factors contributing to the social media users'irra-tional behaviors from the risk perception of public opinion engagement and elucidates the relationships between us-er's cognition,motivation,and behavior to provide a scientific reference for the governance of public opinion risks and the regulation of irrational behaviors among social media users.[Method/Process]Integrating the Risk Informa-tion Seeking and Processing Model(RISP),and the Extended Parallel Processing Model(EPPM),this study clari-fied the linkages and driving paths among the influencing factors of social media users'irrational behavior from the risk perception of public opinion engagement.Then,it constructed a mechanism model of that across four stages:demand triggering,cognitive control,emotional fermentation,and behavioral feedback on the problem solving situ-ation theory.[Result/Conclusion]In response to the social media users'irrational behavior from the risk perception of public opinion engagement,it should carry out some regulations in four aspects:demand guidance,information regulation,emotional reshaping,and technological empowerment,so as to guide users to rationally identify the risk of public opinion and make scientific decisions.
