Environmental Protection Legislation for Transnational Enterprise Supply Chain and Its Countermeasures
The issue of green environmental protection in the enterprise supply chain has become a new is-sue of economic and trade disputes. The EU is a pioneer in environmental legislation for corporate supply chains, not only striving to implement relevant UN guidelines, but also breaking existing rules to increase re-strictions at the EU level, and expanding the scope of supervision to the entire supply chain enterprise,aim-ing to transition from"soft law"to"hard law".The promulgation of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Law of the EU and its member states will not only directly increase the cross-border operation compliance costs and litigation risks of relevant Chinese-funded enterprises, but also endanger the security of China's supply chain and industrial chain. In this regard, the enterprise level needs to improve the corporate compliance system, actively fulfill corporate social responsibility, and improve the corporate reputation. At the government level,we should improve China's foreign-related rule of law system and curb the improper extraterritorial applica-tion of relevant supply chain legislation.
