Challenges and Responses for Chinese Path to Modernization in the Light of Risk Society
The world is accelerating into a"risk society"of uncertainty.In the process of Chinese path to mod-ernization,China faces the common risks of the complex globalisation era,as well as the special risks of its own history and development stage.From the perspective of risk society theory,the process of Chinese modernisation is likely to face various social risks arising from industrialisation,information development and unfair social distribu-tion.In order to better cope with the various risks and challenges that Chinese path to modernization may face,it is necessary to overcome the paradox of capital appreciation that leads to the self-reflexivity of modernity and its risks,build an advanced socialist culture,and accelerate the construction of a fair social risk distribution mecha-nism.
