Research on the Influencing Factors of Information Seeking Behaviors of Humanities Scholars from the Perspective of Digital Empowerment
Humanities scholars face the dilemma of digital disability under the digital wave,while digital empowerment theory emphasizes helping disability groups to cross the social differentiation issues.Therefore,this paper aims to explore the influencing factors of academic information seeking behaviors of humanities scholars in the digital scholarship environment and to introduce digital empowerment theory to critically examine the issues of digital transformation of humanities scholars.By conducting online interviews with 12 respondents and coding and analyzing the primary data using grounded theory,this paper sorted out five main categories as influences:infrastructure,contextual factors,cost-benefit,information quality,and perceived competence.It reveals the three-dimensional orientations of resource empowerment,psychological empowerment,and literacy empowerment of the digital scholarship environment on the academic information seeking behavior of humanities scholars,which have theoretical and practical implications for the construction of digital scholarship infrastructure,digital scholarship services,and digital empowerment of humanities scholars.
