Investigation and Enlightenment of the Service for the Elderly and the Homebound People in British Public Libraries
This paper takes 19 British public libraries as the survey object,and uses the website survey method,mail consultation method and literature survey method to explore the service content of the elderly and the homebound people in British public libraries.The survey found that the services for the elderly and the homebound people in British public libraries mainly focus on five aspects:health and medical services,barrier-free services,home delivery services,preferential services,and leisure services.By analyzing the current situation,content and characteristics of the services for the elderly and the homebound people in British public libraries,this paper extracts its enlightenment to the development of related services in public libraries in China.
