Comparative Study on Digital Resource Policies of Top University Libraries in China and the United States:Taking C9 Universities and Ivy League Universities as Examples
Taking C9 universities in China and Ivy League university libraries in the United States as survey objects,this study compares and analyzes the digital resource policies of top university libraries in China and the United States from five aspects:online disclosure of digital resource policies,overview of digital resource collection content,long-term preservation strategy of digital resources,digital resource copyright protection,and digital resource librarians.It is found that C9 universities are inferior to Ivy League universities in terms of openness of digital resource policies,level of digital resource construction and development,and long-term preservation of digital resources.It pointed out that,in the future,the development of digital resources in China's college libraries can learn from the experience of the development of digital resources in Ivy League colleges and universities,and put forward targeted recommendations in terms of policy formulation,digital resource construction,preservation,copyright protection,and the setting up of digital resource commissioners.
