Experience and Enlightenment of the Construction of Grass-roots Libraries in Singapore
This paper reviews the policies and laws on the development of public libraries in Singapore,and divides the development of grass-roots libraries in Singapore into four stages according to the time node when the policies are released,and summarizes the main characteristics of the building,collection,and operation involved in the construction of grass-roots libraries in Singapore.Finally,it puts forward four inspirations and suggestions for the development of grass-roots libraries in China:develop grass-roots libraries by standards,pay attention to user needs,promote the integration of grass-roots institutions,and help to boost urbanization.
