Optimization of raw rubber and reinforcement system for high-performance chloroprene rubber based dynamic sealing materials
In order to improve the comprehensive performance of chloroprene rubber(CR)based dynamic sealing materials, the effects of blending butadiene rubber(BR)and silica on the main performance indicators of the material, such as fatigue resistance, aging resistance, wear resistance, and resilience, were investigated by changing the raw rubber and reinforcement system. The results show that the vulcanization rate, elongation at break, resilience, wear resistance, and dynamic fatigue properties of the rubber are improved after the use of BR,but the tear strength and heat resistance to air aging performance deteriorate. The optimal combined mass ratio of CR and BR is 70/30;after the addition of silica, the tensile strength, tear strength, hardness, modulus, and wear resistance of the rubber material are improved, but the resilience and fatigue resistance are reduced. The comprehensive performance of the rubber material is best when the mass ratio of carbon black and silica is 20/20.
