Effect of small rubber particles on colloidal properties of concentrated natural rubber latex
In the process of preparing concentrated latex based on fresh natural latex, the latex has not been effectively utilized. At the same time, small rubber particles have their own unique properties.Small rubber particles(SRP)were obtained from the skim rubber latex by the paste method, and SRPL was mixed with concentrated latex in different mass ratios to study the colloidal properties of the mixed latex during storage. The results show that the molecular weight of SRP is relatively larger. The molecular weight of the mixed later increases with the SRP content in the concentrared latex. As the content of small particles increases, the average particle size of the concentrated latex samples continues to decrease. With the storage time increases, the average particle size of the rubber particles in each latex sample does not change significantly. The addition of SRPL to the concentrated latex has an impact on the viscosity, mechanical stability, and thermal stability of the concentrated latex. With the increase of small rubber particles, the viscosity of the latex increases, the mechanical stability and thermal stability of the latex first decrease, then increase and stabilize.
