Effect of inorganic mineral fillers on the vulcanisation characteristics and mechanical properties of natural rubber composites
Inorganic mineral fillers have an important influence on the properties of rubber composites, and the effects of inorganic mineral fillers including microcrystalline graphite(GM6),microsilicates(MS-1),fly ash(FA),and brick powder(BP)on the vulcanisation characteristics and mechanical properties of natural rubber(NR)composites were mainly investigated. The results showed that the rubber composites exhibited the highest MH-ML values and the fastest vulcanisation time when microcrystalline graphite(GM6)was used as a filler. In addition, the composites exhibited the best performance in terms of tensile strength, tear strength, hardness and abrasion resistance, with no significant difference between the composites in terms of elongation at break. The findings provide a reference for the application and optimisation of inorganic mineral materials in rubber.
