The effect of mixing process on the properties of hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber(HNBR)was studied. The results showed that, with the increase of filling factor, the production efficiency of the rubber material was improved, but the mixing safety was reduced;the filler dispersion improved, and the Mooney viscosity of the mixing compound tended to decrease, and the vulcanization performance was not much different;the hardness of the vulcanizates tended to decrease, and the resistance to compression and permanent deformation was improved, and the filling factor had little effect on the mechanical strength, elongation at pull-off and aging resistance. With the increase of mixing speed, mixing power consumption increased, mixing safety decreased, filler dispersion improved, mixing rubber Mooney viscosity and vulcanization performance did not differ much;vulcanizates hardness tended to decrease, compression permanent deformation resistance improved, and the speed had little effect on the mechanical strength, elongation and aging resistance. As the initial temperature increased, the mixing power consumption decreased, but the mixing safety decreased, and the initial temperature had little effect on the properties of mixing compound and vulcanizates.
