Effect of SIS on properties of EVA hot melt adhesives
Ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer(EVA)/styrene-isoprene-styrene(SIS)hot-melt adhesives were prepared using EVA and SIS hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesives, and the characterisation of the structure and properties of this new hot-melt adhesive product were discussed. The effects of SIS on the physical properties of EVA/SIS hot-melt adhesives during the formation process were analysed one by one using the one-factor investigation method. The results of single factor analysis showed that the adhesion and tensile properties of EVA were significantly improved after the addition of SIS,and the softening point of EVA was increased with the addition of SIS.However, with the increased SIS content, the peel strength of EVA first increased and then decreased, with the optimal SIS addition ratio being 8 parts.SEM images revealed that the incorporation of SIS significantly enhanced the toughness of EVA.
