Experiences and Implications for Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Sports in Japan and South Korea
Comparative analysis is used to explore the experience of Japan and South Korea in the protection of intangible cultural her-itage in sports and the implications for China.Japan and South Korea have been committed to the protection of intangible cultural heritage in sports since the middle of the 20th century,and have formed the following experiences:formulating a sound protection system of laws and policies;coordinating the protection between government agencies and civil society organizations;attaching im-portance to the training of inheritors and campus inheritance;encouraging the participation of the public in order to promote the inte-gration of intangible cultural heritage in sports into daily life;and promoting the integration of sports intangible cultural heritage in their own countries with the international standards.The inspirations for China include to build a rule of law framework for the pro-tection of intangible heritage and formulate special regulations for the protection of sports intangible heritage,to adhere to the leading position of the government while giving full play to the self—governance ability of civil society organizations,to improve the system of sports intangible heritage bearers and promote the sports intangible heritage into the campus,to guide the public to actively partic-ipate in the sports intangible heritage to realize sustainable living inheritance,to establish basis on the cultural self—confidence and cultural mutual understanding,and to promote the traditional sports intangible heritage to the international arena.
