Optimal Selection of Schemes for the Improvement of Roadbed of High Liquid Limit Soil in Old Road Expansion Projects
In order to further improve the safety and stability of roadbeds, this paper takes the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal West Road as an example, and analyzes the settlement effect of the lime-improved soil roadbed through the finite element numerical calculation software ABAQUS.The research analyzed roadbed settlements under five conditions of undisturbed soil mixed with lime, with lime content(calculated by weight percent and the same applies thereaft-er)being 4%,6%,8%and 10%respectively,and compared with the actual measured data of the project. The research results show:compared with the undisturbed soil, when the roadbed is mixed with lime, the overall roadbed settlement decreases with the increase of lime content,indi-cating that the high liquid limit soil with lime can strengthen soil and make the structure integral and reduce settlement, with measured settlement fluctuating up and down the numerical simula-tion data value(33.64 cm)with an amplitude not exceeding 5.78%.It follows that the measured engineering data are basically the same as the numerical simulation data, and there is no remarka-ble difference. In summary,8%lime for modified soil is the most reasonable amount. The re-search results can provide useful reference for similar projects.
