An Analysis of the Offensive and Defensive Capabilities of the Participating Teams at the 30th FIBA Asia Women's Cup
This article utilizes statistical methods,literature review,video observation,and the rank sum ratio(RSR)comprehensive evaluation method to conduct a comparative analysis of the offensive and defensive capabilities of teams participating in the 30th Women's Basketball Asia Cup.The primary focus is on a comparative assessment of the offensive and defensive metrics of the Chinese and Japanese women's basketball teams.The findings reveal that the Japanese women's basketball team and the Chinese women's basketball team rank first and second in both offense and defense,placing them in the A level.The South Korean women's basketball team and the Australian women's basketball team fall into the B level,with an RSR value of 0.63.The New Zealand women's basketball team closely follows,ranking fifth and belonging to the C level.The Philippines women's basketball team,Lebanon women's basketball team,and Chinese Taipei women's basketball team are categorized in the D level.There is a significant difference(P<0.05)and a substantial effect size(Cohen's d>0.8)in three-point shooting between the Chinese and Japanese women's basketball teams.The Chinese women's basketball team tends to emphasize attacks inside the paint and in the perimeter,while the Japanese women's basketball team adopts more 3-point line and downtown shootings.The Chinese women's basketball team excels in rebounding but faces challenges with relatively low free-throw accuracy,fewer steals,and more turnovers.
