A Comparative Study on the Aesthetic Views of Ancient Sports Arts in China and the West
Using the methods of literature review and logical analysis,from the angle of iconology and sociology,this paper takes the ancient Chinese sports-related paintings and the Ancient Greek sports-related sculptures and bottle paintings as examples,compares Chinese and western ancient sports art,probes into the differences of Chinese and western aesthetic standards and sports culture in their artistic representation,and studies the reasons of its emergence in a specific era,sports cultural awareness and the pursuit of the beauty of sports.The results show that:(a)the differences between Chinese and western ancient sports culture come from the differences of culture and art;(b)in sports art,the difference of characters'body and shape shows the difference between Chinese and Western art expression and sports spirit;(c)The common point of Chinese and western ancient sports art is the final understanding of body beauty,which is the unity of inner and outer beauty and the beauty of harmony.It is suggested to absorb the nutrition of Chinese traditional culture,obtain the spirit energy from the Ancient Olympic movement,inherit and innovate the Chinese traditional sports culture,carry forward the spirit of the times,create the gorgeous sports art and culture form,and build a new era of sports culture brilliant.
