Analysis of the Competitive Strength of the Men's Vault Event at the Liverpool Gymnastics World Championships and Exploration of China's Development Path
Utilizing research methods such as literature review, video observation, expert interviews, and mathematical statistics, this study conducts a thorough analysis of the competitive strength in the men's vault event at the Liverpool Gymnastics World Championships.Through this analysis,it proposes a developmental trajectory for China's men's vault event. Results reveal:(1)In the vault finals of this World Championships,Armenian athlete Davtyan clinched the championship,Filipino athlete Yulo secured second place with a narrow 0.1-point margin, and Ukrainian athlete Radivilov achieved third place.(2)Imbalances exist in the selection of different groups in the vault event, with a tendency towards homogeneity in the use of similar types of movements, impeding the development of the vault event.(3)In vault competitions, athletes must achieve an average difficulty of 5.6 or higher for their two vaults, and the execution score must surpass 9 points for satisfactory results.(4)Insufficient landing stability remains a prevalent issue in competitions, and leg separation problems in the air have become commonplace.Based on these findings, the proposed developmental path includes redefining the strategic position of the vault in gymnastics, altering the structure of single movements, developing different groups and types of vault movements, fully leveraging the advantages of the new nationwide system, seizing the momentum of reform, and innovating the criteria for selecting vault athletes. This aims to promote the enhancement of China's competitive strength in the vault event.
