OBJECTIVE:This study aims to comprehensively understand and summarize the methods employed in agility assessment in soccer by reviewing relevant literature. The goal is to provide insights that can serve as a reference for agility assessment research in soccer within our country.METHOD:The primary methods utilized in this study include literature review and logical analysis.Agility,as a complex and integral physical attribute in the sport of soccer,is evaluated through tests such as speed testing with rapid change of direction and reaction time testing.RESULTS:(1)Rapid change of direction speed testing, despite its minimal equipment requirements, lacks perceptual decision-making in its testing process, deviating from the practical aspects of soccer.(2)Reaction time testing, incorporating perceptual decision-making,aligns more closely with real sports situations but has its inherent limitations.CONCLUSION:Current domestic research in the field of agility falls behind international standards.SUGGESTION:Keep a vigilant eye on international research developments in agility to supplement and refine our understanding of relevant knowledge.
