A Study on the Effects of Elastic Resistance Band Training on Endurance and Cardiopulmonary Function of Table Tennis Athletes
OBJECTIVE:This study aims to investigate the potential effects of elastic resistance band training on the endurance and cardiopulmonary function of table tennis athletes.METHOD:An experimental approach was employed, comprehensively analyzing general information, cardiopulmonary function indicators, and endurance to gain insights into the benefits of elastic resistance band training. The study focused on athletes at Level Ⅱ of table tennis proficiency, divided into an experimental group and a control group, ensuring comparable baseline levels. The experimental group underwent 12 weeks of elastic resistance band training, while the control group received standard table tennis training.Evaluation criteria included general information, cardiac and pulmonary assessments, and endurance tests.RESULTS:The experimental group, following elastic resistance band training, demonstrated a significant improvement in cardiac function indicators(such as left ventricular ejection fraction),coupled with a notable increase in pulmonary function indicators(such as forced expiratory volume in one second).CONCLUSION:Elastic resistance band training positively influences the cardiovascular and respiratory systems of athletes, potentially achieved through enhancing myocardial contractility and respiratory muscle strength.
