Research Progress on the Application of Post-Activation Potentiation in Swimming Training and Competition
Post-Activation Potentiation(PAP)is an important physiological phenomenon that improves muscle power output or athletic performance within a short period of time after high-intensity muscle activation. The application of the PAP phenomenon is not only limited to the improvement of transient power output, but can also positively affect athletes'long-term training effects through rational training planning. The exploration of PAP in swimming training and competition is of great practical and theoretical value. The application of PAP in swimming training and competition demonstrates its potential to improve athletes'jumping speed, turning skills and stroke efficiency. This paper discusses the progress of research on the application of PAP in swimming training and competition in order to provide reference for achieving greater success in high-level competitive sport.
