Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,and the main contradiction in Chinese society has been transformed into a contradiction between the growing needs of the people for a better life and unbalanced and insufficient development. The pursuit for an improved quality of life is growing day by day.To cater to community residents'need for physical exercise within their vicinity and provide more comprehensive and convenient sports services, smart community sports can be adopted as an emerging model. However, there are some practical challenges on our developmental path. This paper employs methods of literature review and logical analysis to examine the difficulties faced by smart community sports in China. It is found that the main difficulties faced by smart community sports are as follows:a singular sports governance model resulting in sluggish progress;insufficient capital investment leading to limited development potential;scarcity of professional personnel and corresponding technical support;imperfect platform construction.Countermeasures include reconstructing smart community sports governance through collaborative efforts from government, society, and residents;diversifying funding sources to ensure robust support for smart community sports;nurturing relevant talents to enhance its vitality;strengthening data management capabilities while providing more comprehensive smart sports services.
