Overseas Research Progress on the Health Promotion Effect of Camp Education on Adolescents with Chronic Diseases
Camp education,as a novel educational approach, provides an effective complement and extension to school education. This study examines the health promotion effects of camp education on adolescents with chronic diseases, utilizing research methods such as literature review. The results demonstrate that camp education has significant promoting effects on adolescents with type 1 diabetes, asthma, autism, and congenital heart disease. These effects are observed in various aspects, including the acquisition of specialized disease knowledge, scientific medication guidance, improvement in physical and mental health, reduction of disease burden, and enhancement of quality of life.Furthermore, these promoting effects typically last for 3 to 12 months after the camp.Adolescents with chronic diseases should increase their participation in camp education, internalize the knowledge acquired, and improve their lifestyle habits,as this can have long-lasting positive effects on their physical and mental health.
