An Analysis of Competitive Landscape and Competition Trends in the First Parkour World Championship
This study employs research methods such as literature review,video observation,and mathematical statistics to analyze the competition results of participating athletes and finalists in various events of the first Parkour World Championship.The aim is to understand the competitive strength of parkour athletes from different countries and the competition trends in each event,as well as to grasp the latest developments in parkour sports led by the International Gymnastics Federation.The findings of this research are as follows:(1)The participating teams in the first Parkour World Championship were mainly concentrated in Asia and Europe,with European teams demonstrating strong athletic abilities.The competition for medals was fierce among the teams.(2)The competition trend in freestyle events is characterized by the combination of difficulty and aesthetics,emphasizing the continuity and stability of various parkour movements.Backflips and vaulting flips are the main scoring methods for athletes in their movement distribution.Among the most difficult movements,the most commonly used by female athletes is the 2-week vaulting flip,while male athletes frequently perform a 1080-degree backflip.(3)The competition trend in speed races is"the fastest is the winner,"focusing on the speed of navigating obstacles using parkour movements and the speed of transitions between multiple parkour movements.In the women's speed race,TIBBLING Miranda from the Swedish team showed strong competitiveness,while the overall strength of other athletes was relatively close.In the men's speed race,the athletes'overall strength was balanced,with minimal difference.
