Correlation Analysis of Competitive Intelligence Demand in Sports——An Empirical Investigation into Competitive Swimming
OBJECTIVE:This study aims to elucidate the characteristics and internal associations of Competitive Intelligence(CI)demand in competitive swimming in China.The goal is to leverage sports information technology to empower the development of a sports power and to support the advancement of competitive swimming in China.METHODS:Literature research method,questionnaire surveys,and mathematical statistics were employed.Using empirical data from 278 professionals in competitive swimming with diverse positions,work experience,and role levels,formal concept analysis was utilized to construct the conceptual framework of CI demand in competitive swimming.Corresponding association rules were then extracted to analyze the demand for sports CI.RESULTS:(1)Intelligence regarding opponents'performance and result changes in recent years,event specifications and schedules,and alterations in swimming competition rules are the most urgent and consistent CI demands for all swimming teams in China.(2)The demand for sports CI is relatively concentrated among senior,intermediate,and junior personnel,with 8 common demands.Significant differences in sports CI demand exist among individuals in different professional positions and work experience within sports teams.(3)Most swimming teams lack specialized and stable channels for sports CI services,leading to increased reliance on internet channels for information.Additionally,swimming teams prioritize the form of sports CI services in"process analysis reports+conclusions."SUGGESTIONS:This study's scope was limited to professionals in competitive swimming,and future research could expand to include teams of other sports.Ultimately,establishing a national sports CI service system could lay the groundwork for a competitive advantage in sports CI.
