This study employs literature research method and case analysis, focusing on the"Village Super League"(VSL)in Rongjiang County,Guizhou Province,to explore the experiences and lessons it offers for the high-quality development of rural sports events in China. The VSL encompasses significant aspects such as meeting the public's desire for an enhanced quality of life, highlighting the outstanding outcomes of rural revitalization, and promoting the engagement of rural communities in sports activities. The VSL's rapid rise to prominence can be attributed to its successful integration of culture and sports, which enhances the events'depth and appeal;the strong public support that fuels the competitions'dynamism;effective multi-channel promotion that amplifies the events'reach;and the synergistic development of multiple industries that drives the events'growth. For the future development of rural sports events in China,it is essential to strengthen the cultural underpinnings that motivate participation, establish a sustainable and authentic event framework, uncover and elevate exemplary event models to create flagship sports events, foster deeper industrial integration to build a high-quality industry ecosystem, and enhance rural governance by creating vibrant, livable communities.
