Professional Football Scouting in England and Its Implications
This study employs literature research method and logical analysis to systematically summarize the history,development,and strengths of the football scouting system in England.It delves into both traditional and innovative talent identification criteria used by English football scouts,including technical and tactical factors,physical attributes,psychological factors,the relative age effect,scientific data analysis,and environmental constraints.The study offers insights and recommendations for enhancing scout training in China:(1)Develop a scientifically-based scout training system guided by policy documents;(2)Establish a comprehensive professional scouting network under the leadership of the Chinese Football Association;(3)Accelerate the creation of a standardized scout evaluation system with a focus on talent development;(4)Seize global trends as an opportunity to align with international scouting practices.
