America's AdaPted Physical Education National Standards:Origin·Evolution·Characteristic·Inspiration
Adapted Physical Fducation National Standards(APENS)plays the role of"goalkeeper"to the research and practice standards of adapted physical education.The APENS are closely related to the training of adapted physical education(PE)teachers,curriculum construction,social cognition,and policy resources.The America's research in adapted physical education is at a world's leading level and has issued three editions of the APENS.Using literature research method,logic analysis and comparative analysis,this article discusses the origin,evolution and characteristics of the APENS in an effort to offer new ideas for pre-service training of adapted PE teachers in China and helps the development of adapted PE in the country.The following suggestions are given:(1)encourage ordinary colleges and universities to open specialized programs to broaden training channels;(2)specialized courses and focus on trainees'practical abilities;(3)subdivide disability categories and meet teaching needs;(4)establish a teacher certification system and elevate teacher entry threshold.
