Effects of Different Intensities of Acute Aerobic Exercise on the Mood States of Sports Major College Students
OBJECTIVE:This study aims to explore the effects of low, moderate, and high-intensity acute aerobic exercise on the mood states of sports major college students before and after exercise intervention.METHODS:Utilizing literature research method, questionnaire surveys, experimental methods, and statistical analysis, the study selected 60 sports major students from Inner Mongolia Normal University as subjects. They were divided into three groups:low-intensity,moderate-intensity,and high-intensity.Each group performed 30 minutes of cycling on a stationary bike, and the BFS Mood Scale was used to measure changes in mood states before and after the exercise intervention.RESULTS:Following low-intensity exercise, positive mood levels showed a significant increase, while the impact on negative mood levels was minimal. After moderate-intensity exercise, positive mood levels significantly increased, and negative mood levels noticeably decreased.High-intensity exercise also resulted in improved positive mood scores and a significant reduction in negative mood levels.Across all different intensities of acute aerobic exercise, there was a downward trend in the contemplative mood dimension.CONCLUSION:Acute aerobic exercise effectively improves the mood states of sports major college students, with moderate-intensity aerobic exercise yielding the most favorable outcomes for mood enhancement.
