Development of High-Level Basketball Athletes in Chinese Universities:Current Status,Challenges, and Practical Approaches
This study utilizes literature research method, expert interviews, and logical analysis to explore the current state of developing high-level basketball athletes in Chinese universities, while also analyzing the real challenges and optimization pathways involved. The study finds that the challenges in cultivating high-level basketball athletes in Chinese universities include:an imperfect admissions process with a high degree of randomness in athlete selection;a weak foundation of reserve talent, making it difficult to support reforms in admissions exams;an incomplete assessment system leading to stagnation in team development;a scarcity of event resources, which are long limited to campus leagues;and an underdeveloped assessment system that hinders team progress.Accordingly, the study proposes practical pathways:optimizing admissions policies to ensure a high-quality talent pipeline;strengthening the construction of specialized theoretical courses to alleviate the conflict between academics and training;innovating training models to enhance training platforms;reinforcing internal reform to drive systematic team development;and clarifying guiding principles to strengthen government macro-regulation.
