An Analysis of the Competitive Landscape at the 2024 National Wushu Taolu Championship(Traditional Events Division)
This study used literature research method,mathematical statistics,and logical reasoning to analyze and summarize the medal standings and performance of representative teams in various taolu event categories at the 2024 National Wushu Taolu Championship(Traditional Events Division).The results showed that:(ⅰ)Eastern China demonstrated high competitive strength in traditional taolu events utilizing bare-handed techniques and those performed with weapons,exhibiting comprehensive progress.(ⅱ)Eastern China,northern China,and southwestern China exhibited high overall competitive strength,showcasing the deep cultural heritage of wushu in these areas and the popularity of basic education and specialized training in wushu.(ⅲ)Although the medal-winning representative teams were relatively dispersed geographically,the concentration of medals was high,indicating that the competitive landscape in traditional events of wushu in China is characterized by a few elites,a majority of average and weaker competitors.SUGGESTIONS:(ⅰ)Weaker wushu teams should learn from the experiences of regions like eastern China,northern China,and southwestern China,especially the training models in Fujian,and leverage their own advantages to mine their potential strengths.(ⅱ)Develop targeted training plans to enhance athletes'technical skills and innovation capabilities,strengthen team exchanges,cultivate and select reserve talents,and collectively improve the level of wushu competition.(ⅲ)Each province should promote resource sharing,complementary advantages,talent exchange,and development balance through activities such as wushu exchanges,coach training,and athlete visits to narrow the development gap and achieve balanced development.
