Experiences and Reflections:An Oral History Study of the Development of Women's Judo in China
This study,using literature research method and from oral history,examines the development of women's judo in China since the founding of the People's Republic of China.It summarizes the historical experiences of the women's judo team to provide insights for the development of this sport in China.The study reveals that the development process of women's judo in China can be divided into four phases:initial development(1949-1978),rapid progress(1979-1991),flourishing period(1992-2008),and a recent downturn(2009-present).Women's judo in China has advantages such as an institutional advantage in the system of mobilizing resources nationwide,an ideological advantage in the"Spirit of Fenglian,"and a technical and tactical advantage in an established foundation of wrestling.Recommendations include leveraging the advantage of the system of mobilizing resources nationwide to establish a superior judo system,selecting and nurturing key athletes,strengthening the development of women's judo reserve talents,strengthening the supporting techniques of individuals'favorite techniques,and aligning training methods with international standards.
