A Study on Accelerating the Development of Suzhou as an International Sports and Cultural City
The development of international sports cities has become a crucial development objective for many urban areas,serving as a key component of urban planning.This study employs literature research method,expert interviews,and logical analysis to explore the strategic significance,opportunities,challenges,and corresponding development strategies for accelerating the development of Suzhou as an international sports and cultural city.The study finds that the strategic significance of Suzhou's development as an international sports and cultural city is evident in the implementation of the"sports power"strategy,enhancing Suzhou's international influence,and promoting high-quality economic and social development.While Suzhou's acceleration in developing as an international sports and cultural city presents opportunities in sports facility construction,hosting major sports events,mass sports organization,and the scale of the sports industry,it also faces challenges such as the gap with international sports and cultural cities,limited frequency of hosting major events,a lack of specialized talent in the sports industry,and the need for innovative development in the"sports+"industry chain.Based on these findings,development strategies are proposed,including tapping into traditional sports and cultural resources to develop a distinctive local sports and cultural brand,stimulating the vitality of the sports industry to promote high-quality economic development,enhancing the promotion of the city's reputation as a sports destination,building Suzhou Sports Event brand;fostering the rapid development of professional sports,developing high-level professional sports clubs;improving public digital sports services,expanding mass sports activities,and extending the"sports+"industry chain to drive the cross-industry integrated development of new sports formats.
