Practical Insights of Chronological Characteristics of the Growth Process of Elite Tennis Players on the Development of Tennis Reserve Talents——Evidence from ATP/WTA Top 100 Players
The chronological characteristics of the growth process of elite tennis players who have entered the ATP/WTA Top 100 rankings provide important references for the targeted and scientific development of tennis reserve talents.This study uses literature research method and comparative analysis to study the chronological characteristics of the growth process of ATP/WTA Top 100 players and provide insightful analysis for the development of tennis reserve talents.The findings of this study reveal that the time it takes for elite tennis players to enter the professional ranking system is significantly correlated with ATP ranking,time to reach the Top 100,age at reaching the Top 100,and age at training initiation.The load characteristics of tennis-specific competitions determine the early training and early participation characteristics of players.Chinese outstanding players have opportunities to achieve higher rankings in the time series.The insights gained from the study suggest that in the development process of young tennis players,it is important to correctly recognize the synergy between early training and diversified training,accurately grasp the vertical development relationship between physical fitness and skills,continuously improve and optimize the competition system and overall planning,focus on innovative training concepts to enhance the effectiveness of talent development,and promote the high-quality and ecological development of reserve talents.
