OBJECTIVE:To analyze the application characteristics of technical and tactical strategies of Li Shifeng and Loh Kean Yew in the men's singles knockout stage of badminton at the 2024 Paris Olympics.METHODS:By adopting literature research method,video observation,mathematical statistics,and comparative analysis,a comparative analysis of the application of technical and tactical strategies of Li Shifeng and Loh Kean Yew in the men's singles knockout stage of badminton at the 2024 Paris Olympics was conducted.RESULTS:In terms of serve and return techniques,compared to Li Shifeng,Loh Kean Yew had more diverse serve placement,and both players mainly used net drop shots in return.In the front-court techniques,Loh Kean Yew had stronger scoring abilities in drive and net kill than Li Shifeng.In the mid-court techniques,both players used blocking techniques the most.In the back-court techniques,Loh Kean Yew had a higher usage rate of drop shot techniques than Li Shifeng and showed more variations.CONCLUSION:Loh Kean Yew mainly adopted offensive technical and tactical strategies,while Li Shifeng mainly focused on defense.SUGGESTION:In future training,it is necessary to enhance the variability and combination of athletes'techniques and cultivate their proactive attacking awareness.
