Competition Characteristics and Changes in Competitive State of World-Class Elite Women 100m Runners
This study adopts the methods of literature research method, mathematical statistics, and logical analysis to study the competition entry characteristics and competitive state of the top 8 female 100m runners at the Paris Olympics during the time period from the Budapest World Championships to the Paris Olympics,in order to provide references for Chinese female sprinters to regulate their competitive state and achieve excellent results. The results show that the number of competition entries for female 100m runners in the Budapest World Championships ranged from 5 to 13,and the interval between competitions varied from 1 to 3 weeks;for those who did not participate in the Budapest World Championships, the number of competitions ranged from 6 to 8,and the interval between each competition ranged from 1 to 8 weeks. After the Budapest World Championships, most athletes chose to rest and adjust, and their competition arrangements in the Paris Olympic year were mainly concentrated from May to August. The competition results of female 100m runners presented a wavy and cyclical change, and their best competitive state mainly occurred in major competitions in August. We suggest that coaches should rationally arrange the number of competition entries for female 100m runners based on their characteristics and the time interval between competitions according to the athletes'states;draw more on the training concepts and systems of other countries and regions to improve the competition arrangements;arrange major competition entries from May to August in the Olympic year;gradually help female 100m runners enhance their competitive state by increasing the number of competition entries.
