Against the backdrop of the normalization of ideological and political education(IPE),digital empowerment forIPEinphysical educationcurriculumholds significant importance.Thisstudyadoptsliterature research method and logical analysis to discuss the intrinsic mechanism andpathwaysof digital empowerment forIPEin physical educationcurriculum.The study reveals that the intrinsic mechanism of digital empowerment forIPEin physical educationcurriculumis manifested as follows:Digital technology empowerment to grasp the educational objects;digital resource empowerment to enrich educational contents;digital space empowerment to strengthen the educational process;and digital information empowerment to facilitate teaching evaluation.Nevertheless,digital empowerment forIPEin physical educationcurriculumconfronts practical predicaments such as the limitations of infrastructure and talent quality,the application of ideological and political consciousness and digital thinking,the constraints of information silos and digital barriers,and the integration of ideological and political education incurriculumand professional contents.Based on this,the followingpathwaysareproposed:Strengthen the foundation with digital means to improve the basicsof ideological and political education in physical educationcurriculum;Update the concepts with digital technology to promote the innovation of ideological and political thinking in physical educationcurriculum;Facilitate sharing with digital technology to achieve a balanced allocation of resources forIPEin physical education;Deepen the integration with digital technology to promote the integration of professional teaching in physical education andIPE.
