Interpretation and Implications of the IOC's Olympic AI Agenda
The International Olympic Committee(IOC)recently released the Olympic Agenda for Artificial Intelligence,which constitutes an important part of the road-map for organizational reform.This paper analyzes the background conditions,content structure and prospective enlightenment of the text by using the method of literature and logical analysis.It is argued that the extensive use of AI technology,the IOC's digital reform issues and the scenario revolution of Olympic AI have laid the back-ground for the text's introduction.The IOC takes fostering an ethos of integrity,improving access and fairness,creating and distributing of moments that matter,honouring traditions while embracing innovation,collaborating for shared impact as impor-tant guiding principles for the development of AI.The IOC focuses on developing AI in areas such as supporting athletes,clean competition and safe sport,ensuring equal access to the benefits of AI,optimizing Olympic Games operations with a fo-cus on sustainability,growing engagement with people,and driving efficiency across the management of the IOC and sport.The IOC will also establish a clear division of roles,sharing of responsibilities and governance framework to mitigate the poten-tial risks of AI.The following forward-looking insights can be gained:adhering to the bottom-line thinking of Olympic values,strengthening the work collaboration of AI governance,exploring new scenarios for the use of AI in the Olympic Games,and contributing Chinese wisdom to AI governance models.
