Curriculum Evolution of Physical Education and Health for Secondary Vocational Schools in China
Issued documents of the physical education and health curriculum for China's secondary vocational schools were col-lect in this paper.By using literature,comparative method and logic analysis,the paper not only conducted a diachronic study for analyzing the curriculum evolution,but also synchronically compared it with the curriculum standards for senior high schools.The results show that three reforms have been carried out based on different educational policies,and the text of the curriculum system has gradually improved since China issued an outline for guiding the teaching of physical education in sec-ondary vocational schools in 1994.The text evolves from the teaching guideline document into the curriculum outline docu-ment,from the subject-based curriculum into the comprehensive curriculum,which is consistent with the era requirements of the national curriculum reform;the development of tasks and objectives of curriculum indicates that the value orientation of curriculum change from"subject-centered"to"children-centered",which embodies both the commonality and specificity in the curriculum of secondary vocational schools and senior high schools;the structural modular design of the curriculum is ben-efit to make choices for both teachers and students.The implementation of the curriculum evolves into the overall improvement from a lack of structural content,and gradually adapts to its career-oriented demands.
