Considering that typhoon is one of the main security risks of wind turbines in Southeast coastal area of China,according to the data of wind turbines of the wind farm in Zhanjiang,Guangdong province,which experienced Typhoon Rammasun and Typhoon Kalmaegi in 2014,the ultimate load and field data were analyzed.Based on GB/T 31519-2015 wind turbine under typhoon condition and GB 18451.1-2012 design requirement of wind turbine,the ultimate loads under standard cases and typhoon cases of 1.5 MW double-fed wind turbine were simulated by the DNV GL-Bladed software,respectively,the simulation results were compared with the data under the typhoon condition.Finally,the feasibility of raising the safety of wind turbine under typhoon condition through optimizing the control strategy of pitch system was discussed.The results show that the ultimate load under typhoon case is much more than that under standard case,the extreme changes of wind speed and wind direction are the main reason for causing the double increase of load of wind turbine under typhoon condition,and it can reduce the ultimate load under typhoon condition by improving pitch control strategy and improve safety of wind turbine.
