STUDY ON INFLUENCE DEPTH OF VERTICAL LOADING FOR BUCKET FOUNDATIONS IN CLAY
In this paper,the model test of bucket foundation in sand layered soil with upper clay layer and lower clay layer is carried out,and the"sand layer probe method"is proposed to determine the influence range of vertical load,which can effectively determine the depth of bearing layer of vertical bearing capacity of bucket foundation.The results show that:in homogeneous clay,the depth of bearing stratum of wide shallow bucket foundation is about 0.5 times of the cylinder diameter below the cylinder end,and the depth of bearing stratum increases slowly with the increase of length diameter ratio.In clays where the strength increases linearly with depth,the depth of the bearing layer is inversely proportional to the soil non-uniformity coefficient.
