The proposition is the core gene in the creation and development of ancient literary theories,which can be interpreted from three aspects.Firstly,as the most frequently used discourse mode for ancients to express literary thoughts,propositions embody the core content of ancient literary theories.Secondly,the ideological tendencies,values,and aesthetic attitudes embodied in propositions have a restrictive effect on the nature and characteristics of ancient literary theories.Thirdly,propositions possess the function of inheriting,developing,and deepening previous literary thoughts,serving as the main media for transmitting ancient literary thoughts.Currently,the academic community's research on propositions in ancient literary theories remains severely lacking,manifested primarily in three ways:firstly,research achievements are severely insufficient,with an extremely limited quantity;secondly,the consciousness of self-directed research is extremely weak and urgently needs to be strengthened;thirdly,research on the basic theoretical issues of propositions is extremely weak.Strengthening research on propositions is not only necessary for exploring new fields in the study of ancient literary theories but also an essential measure to make up for the deficiencies in the study of ancient literary theories over the years.
