By using the methods of literature review,text analysis and logic analysis,this paper analyzed the development course and cultural characteristics of outdoor sports in the UK,and put forward the enlightenment to China.The development process has four periods as follows:Emergence period,popularization period,structural formation period,and modern diversification period.Cultural characteristics:The material carries natural symbiosis and builds the foundation of outdoor sports culture.The system is standardized and collaborative sharing,laying the outdoor sports culture order.The behavior is collaborative and shared by groups,shaping the landscape of outdoor sports culture.The value is diverse and open and inclusive,leading the direction of outdoor sports culture.Enlightenment:We should expand material and cultural resources to enrich outdoor sports experience,reform the institutional and cultural framework to protect the rights and interests of outdoor sports,activate the cultural behavior bond to create a model for outdoor sports,and deepen the concept of mentality culture to lead the value of outdoor sports.
