The inherent logic,development history,and practical path of building China's national image through sports
In the era of globalization,national image is an important component of a country`s soft power.The construction of a leading sporting state poses requirements for enhancing China`s international influence in sports.Using the theory of national image,this study analyzes the inherent logic of sports in building China`s national image:namely that the theoretical logic of unifying"the objective source"and improving"the subjective impression",and the practical logic of unifying"local and foreign sports".The research suggests that the history of building China's national image through sports undergone several stages of sports saving the country,sports revitalizing the country,and sports magnifying the country,and now is becoming a leading sporting state.Based on analysis of theory and history,it proposes five path for sports to build China's national image:the first is to enhance the comprehensive strength of sports and solidify the dimension of China's national image sports;the second is to enhance the ability of sports communication and tell the story of Chinese sports well;the third is to increase the strength of sports diplomacy and cultivate the public opinion foundation of China's national image;the fourth is to create star projects and star athletes and to condensing national image symbols;the fifth is to carry out crisis management and effectively respond to crisis events that damages the national image.
