This paper presents an engineering project where a reinforced concrete pipe with an inner diame-ter of 4m is jacking through a layer of silty fine sand. The pipe jacking process posed numerous challenges,in-cluding the"kowtow"phenomenon of jacking machine head, doubling increase in jacking resistance and diffi-culties in adjusting the jacking direction.Through comprehensive recalculation and analysis, the study shows that the successful completion of the project is ensured by increasing the number of relay rooms, introducing drag reduction measures during the jacking process, and reinforcing the fine sand layer before the machine head entering the tunnel. Those measures effectively controlled the error in the machine head's entry. This engineer-ing study provides valuable references for similar future projects.
