To investigate the impact of loads on a steel structure TV tower with welded reinforcement, the construction stage analysis feature in midas Gen software is utilized to create both an overall beam element model and a multiscale model. Two scenarios, reinforcing after unloading and reinforcing with loading, are consid-ered.The ultimate capacity, stress size, stress distribution and structural displacement under different initial loads are obtained. The results indicate that the variation in ultimate capacity is minimal as the initial load in-creases.However,in the overall model, the existing members experience increased forces, while the reinforcing members experience reduced forces, leading to decreased reinforcement efficiency. Therefore,it is essential to consider the influence of initial loads during reinforcement design.Construction stage analysis serves as a valua-ble tool to assist in this process.Additionally,it is recommended that the welding construction should be per-formed during lower wind speeds to ensure effective collaboration between the existing members and reinforcing members.
