Soil vibrations caused by driven piles using impact hammer can affect nearby buildings to varying degrees. To address this issue, through a 2 x 1000MW unit expansion project, the full-process vibration of a 43-meter pile in site was monitored.Using a triaxial vibrometer, the radial, tangential, and vertical vibration ac-celerations of the soil surrounding the pile were measured. The attenuation characteristics of soil vibration a-round the pile were analyzed. The variation of soil vibration at different distances from the pile as the depth in-creased was observed and visualized through peak acceleration contour maps. The study further revealed the vi-bration patterns of the soil surrounding the pile in relation to pile depth and distance from the pile. Results showed a trend of oscillatory attenuation in the soil vibration around the pile.
