The shear viscosity(η)of three kinds of thermoplastic elastomers SIS(SIS1 105,SIS1209 and SIS5562)during the extrusion process was studied. The results showed that the viscosity curves of the three SIS exhibited the characteristic of"shear thinning",that is,the η decreased with the increase of shear rate(y).The zero shear viscosity(η0)of the three SIS decreased significantly at around 180 ℃,170 ℃ and 160 ℃,respectively, which was attributed to the viscous-flow transition in the SIS system. The master curve η·η0~(γ)·η0of the shear viscosity was fitting by the Carreau,Cross and Carreau-Yasuda viscosity models, and a semi-empirical equation η·η0~(γ)·η0 that could describe the variation of shear viscosity η with shear rate y was obtained.
