Compression Stress Relaxation and Its Reversibility of Ethylene-vinyl Acetate Copolymer/Chloroprene Rubber Thermoplastic Vulcanizate
Thermoplastic vulcanizate(TPV)based on ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer(EVA)/chloroprene rubber(CR)blend was prepared by dynamic vulcanization. The mechanical properties, microstructure, the stress relaxation behavior under compression mode and its reversibility were in-vestigated systematically. The model construction of reversibility of TPV were carried out by data fit-ting and the influences of blending ratio on the relaxation behavior were discussed. The results showed that the stress relaxation of the EVA/CR TPV was mainly determined by the EVA phase, while the dispersed phase of CR only had a minor influence on the compressive stress relaxation behavior.In-creasing the heat-treatment temperature or prolonging the heat treatment duration could also enhance the degree of reversible recovery behavior of the compressive stress relaxation, and the reversible-re-covery degree of EVA/CR TPV was close to 100%when heat-treatment temperature approached EVA melting point.
