服饰的言说:新物质主义视域下的《觉醒》

20世纪90年代开始的新物质主义批评认为,具体的物件能够成为人物塑造与建构研究的批评路径之一.小说《觉醒》中女主人公埃德娜穿着华服、脱下华服直至最后脱光衣服的三个阶段,展呈了其身份的动态塑形以及她那种"虽不能至,心向往之"的终极"自我"追求,揭示了19世纪末根深蒂固的男权话语体系下女性无可奈何的悲剧宿命.
The Narration of Clothes:On The Awakening from the Perspective of New Materialism
The New Materialist Approach which started in the 1990s holds that concrete objects can be one of the critical paths for the study of character shaping and construction.In the novel The Awakening,the heroine Edna goes through three stages of wearing a fancy dress,taking off the fancy dress and finally being naked,which shows the dynamic shaping of Edna's identity and her ultimate pursuit of"self"that is"impossible but desirable",revealing the helpless tragic fate of women under the deep-rooted patriarchal discourse system at the end of the 19th century.
