The Effect of Two Postures on the Absorption of Hyphema and Sleep Quality in Glaucoma Patients after Canaloplasty
Objective To investigate the effects of two postures on the absorption of hyphema and sleep quality in glaucoma patients after canaloplasty. Methods 65 patients who underwent canaloplasty in Lixiang Eye Hospital of Soochow University from June 30,2021 to December 31,2022 were seclected.According to randomized con-trolled trial, those patients were divided into two groups:33 patients with reverse trendelenburg position and 32 patients with semi-recumbent position. The postoperative postural compliance and sleep quality of patients with different postures were compared.Sleep dysfunction rating scale(SDRS)was used to evaluate the sleep quality, and postoperative visual acuity, intraocular pressure(IOP)and the absorption of hyphema were detected.Result The sleep quality of patients with reverse trendelenburg position was better than that of patients in the semi-re-cumbent position in terms of sleep adequacy(t/z=-2.24z,P=0.025).Middle insomnia and frequency of sleep quality were better than those in the semi-recumbent position(t/z=-3.863z,P<0.001).Middle insomnia and de-gree was better than the semi-recumbent group(t/z=-2.31z,P=0.021).The discomfort after waking was better than the semi-recumbent group(t/z=-2.861z,p=0.004),and the difference in sleep disorder score(SDRS)be-tween the two groups was compared by independent sample t test(t/z=2.802t,p=0.007),with statistical signifi-cance(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in hyphema absorption between patients with reverse tren-delenburg position and semi-recumbent position(P>0.05).The IOP was no significant difference between re-verse trendelenburg position and semi-recumbent group before operation and discharge(P>0.05).Conclusion After canaloplasty, both the reverse trendelenburg position and the semi-recumbent position can promote the ab-sorption of hyphema. The sleep quality of patients with reverse trendelenburg position is better than the semi-re-cumbent group. The position angle should be comprehensively considered according to the sleeping habits,con-dition and tolerance degree of patients.
